GOLF CLASSIC MORPHED TO GALA DINNER

Golf Classic Canceled

The Kyrene Rotary Club has decided that we cannot stage our golf tournament in the outstanding manner that our golfers and sponsors expect.

We made the decision to not hold the Golf Classic and instead hold a celebration dinner to raise funds for our charitable projects that encompass youth, education and the community.

We welcome your participation. Our website www.kyrenerotary.org will have additional information soon or you can call Andy Wangstad at 253-347-9145, andy@thenooz.net for information on how to participate.

Thank you for being on our list - we hope you've enjoyed our tournaments in the past. They've been a blast to stage and your participation has resulted in thousands of dollars to benefit those community members in need.

Today every Rotarian of any nationality can apply for membership.
OBJECTIVES
• To develop and promote worldwide friendship in a sporting, relaxing way
• To serve the community and humanity, through golfing
To promote international understanding and peace
MAIN ACTIVITIES
• To ensure the organization of the annual World Golf Championship of Rotarians
• Activities to be organized by clubs in different countries, whenever possible, all within the scope of Rotarian friendship.

KYRENE ROTARY MEETING - STEPHEN HAPPEL
October 24, 2022 - Stephen Happel gave us an overview of where we are today, financially, and what we might expect for the coming decade. MAGGIE'S PLACE

October 10, 2022 - Whitney Thistle, the Philanthropy Director of Maggie's Place, gave us an excellent overview of the organization which provides shelter for pregnant homeless women. They have several facilities around the valley and their Mission states that "Maggie’s Place welcomes pregnant and parenting women and their children into a safe and loving community, providing life-changing programs and ongoing services to help them to become self-sufficient." AmeriCorps members serve as 24/7 hour support at the Maggie’s Place homes. More than 1,100 moms and 650 babies have called Maggie’s Place home since it began is 2000. They have a thrift shop to help raise funds and are always looking for volunteers in a number of capacities. Whitney's presentation generated many questions.  Interested readers should check out their web site. Our club donated $100 to help support their efforts.
