Stories
May 4, 2015 - Joshua - the student supported by our club to attend the recent RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) camp - gave us a summary of this experience. He was impressed with all the friendships that were established throughout the camp. He specifically recalled the positive experiences he had with: trust/fall, zip lining, rock climbing, and the motivational speaker.  In fact, he has signed up to be a counselor next year.  Way to go Joshua!
May 4, 2015 - Bob Wilson, who is the founder of smartful coaching gave a presentation on the many aspects of procrastination. He began by giving us the definition of procrastination and then explained what were the major 5 things beneath the surface of procrastination. He gave us a model of inner parent vs inner child. Bob suggested we keep a procrastination log to help break this habit. In addition, he suggested we read  Neil Fiore's book, "The Now Habit" because much of his presentation was taken from that book.  There was lots of discussion after the excellent presentation.

If you are a busy person who wants to have fun while making a difference, then be our guest for lunch on Monday (not holidays) from 12:10 to 1:15 pm at the Kobe Japanese Steakhouse.  We are men and women in ages from 30's to retired. Check our Facebook page - Kyrene Corridor RC as well. The URL for this page is KyreneRotary.org

May 1, 2015 -
Five enthusiastic members of Kyrene Rotary Club as well as three eager family members sold snacks and cold drinks on Friday, May 1st at Tempe's "Movie in the Park" series. The movie was "The Boxtrolls" and a few children in the crowd were seen to be in costume wearing their very own cardboard boxes. A great night was had by all!

The movies, that will be shown the whole month of May, are free to the public and are meant for the entire family to enjoy. They are held on the north side of Kiwanis Park. For a complete listing of the movie, visit: Movies in the Park
