June 18, 2018 - Dave Kline, a founding member of our club, gave us an overview of the Rotary International Foundation (TRF). The presentation is part of the requirement that all clubs have two such informative presentations a year. TRF is separate from our own Kyrene Rotary Club Foundation. It has three major areas - Polio, Endowment, and Annual Share. Fifty percent of the Annual Share funds are returned to the District (District Designated Funds) to support grants which are requested by the clubs. 91% 0f the funds are available for programs - this gets TRF the highest rating on Charity Navigator. The Annual Share funds are used to support activities in the following areas: - Promoting Peace, Providing Clean Water, Saving Mothers and Children, Supporting Education, Growing Local Economies, Fighting Disease. Our club's budget will provide $125 per member each year to maintain our eligibility for grants.  Thanks Dave for a very clear overview.

 May 21, 2018 - Today Steve Alderson, a high end financial advisor with Wells Fargo, talked about the financial  market in general terms. Steve has been providing financial advice for many years, including individuals and groups in every country in South America. He reminded us that markets can go higher and also lower than you think. Steve told us that the current bull run of 107 months is twice as long as the average bull market of 46 months.  He is optimistic about the future economy in the U.S. but thinks a correction is on the horizon. He gave us an interesting chart that showed for the last 107 years, 29 years had negative returns and 78 had positive returns.
