 April 19, 2017 - Kyrene Rotary members David, Darrell, Tom, Andy, and Bill served lunch to homeless men and women at Phoenix Rescue Mission and cleaned up the serving area after.  Thanks Bill for arranging this annual service project.  Phoenix Rescue Mission provides 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, overnight shelter and many other services to homeless people.

We all enjoyed lunch and fellowship afterwards.

 April 13, 2o17 - Faculty/Staff awards of the month for March were awarded to Chrissy Wiley Teacher of the Month-World History & Geography and Bonnie Goodman, Early Learning Center Aide for the AZTykes. There is a childcare center affiliated with the Early Childhood Development classes at Corona del Sol High School. Ms. Goodman was not at the school at the time we presented the awards.

 April 10, 2017 - Melissa Bruger a 14 year SRP employee gave us an overview of SRP and some of their projects designed to enhance sustainable power production. SRP is the 3rd largest public power supplier in the USA. Ten percent of SRP's power comes from hydro and 14% comes from sustainable power. SRP encourages the use of electric vehicles - there are currently 5000 in the valley. SRP is also introducing a solar energy program for non-profits. In addition they are engaged in reforestration projects and have planted 7 million trees to date. SRP is, of course, encouraging users to conserve power and water.   Lots of questions enhanced the presentation.
