Sept 18, 2017 - Today, Chip Shay, a long time associate with SPS+Architects, described several aspects of water conservation in building design. Chip graduated from ASU and has worked for 40 years with the same firm. He told us that the first thing to consider in designing a building is landscaping; followed by the water delivery system; then water recovery; then reclamation. In major buildings the design of bathroom plumbing is extremely important. Water consumption can be reduced by 90% with new products that are available. Many commercial products are also available for homes - e.g. low flush toilets.

Sept 9, 2017 - Several club members (David, Scott, Kelly, Doug, Ken, Dave and lovely wife Lourdes) spent the morning at The Centers for Habilitation assembling a Surrey with the Fringe on Top. It was a challenging task but with the help of a video we managed to complete the task without any broken fingers or bruises. We only had one nut and washer left over at the end. We completed the morning with a chinese meal together.
