March 02, 2015 Terry Lubsen, District Microcredit Chairman gave us an excellent presentation about the microcredit program in Mexico and the newest project in Hermasillo. He began with a video which illustrated just how poor most of the world is, and how we can help people living in poverty conditions by helping them to help themselves. This is the basis of microcredit. Microcredit programs have been operating for several years in many countries. For the past few years Rotary International and our district have been working with Rotary Clubs in Mexico to help people in Nogales and Hermasillo. Terry gave us several success stories and encouraged us to contribute to the program both individually and as a club. It was uplifting to learn how successful the Rotary microcredit program has been in these communities in Mexico.

Feb 23, 2015 - Sal DiCiccio, Councilman for District 6 in the City of Phoenix, gave us a very informative view of the city's financial problems. His handouts contained very detailed data about the salary and benefit costs of a large number of city employees. Sal has been working diligently for the past several years to address the financial dilemma the city is facing. Sal also told us about his efforts to make the city competitive with other cities in Arizona and across the country. The city has made several significant improvements that make doing business in the city much easier than ever before. Sal's comments stirred a lot of discussion and we appreciated his candor and perspective. This was another great meeting!
