Polio and Malaria - Rotary Actions
 
 January 14, 2019 - Honorary Member Harry Short gave us a detailed presentation about Rotarian Malaria Partners (RMP).  He prefaced his description of RMP with the history, finances, and success of Rotary's Polio Plus project. Harry then gave us specific information about Malaria, especially in Africa and what actions Rotary is taking to deal with this disease.  Harry would like our club to donate $1000 to support these programs.  He hopes to visit many clubs in Arizona to raise funds.  Hopefully Harry will have success in his fund-raising endeavors.

Habitat House Build
 Jan 11, 2019 - Fifteen Rotarians (including 6 from our Kyrene Club) from 4 different clubs worked for several hours on Saturday morning to almost finish another house in this "Habitat Complex". It was cold to start but the hard work made it quite tolerable.

Club Assembly 
 
 January 7, 2019 - Today we focused on several administrative issues regarding projects in the coming year. However, before we got started, Wally (filling in for Kelly) presented Machel with a Paul Harris Pin that recognizes her generous support of the Rotary Foundation.  Congratulations and Thank You Machel for your continued contributions.
   After our meeting, Wally exchanged banners with Allen Auxier from the Soldotna Alaska Rotary Club. Check out Soldotna on the Kenai Penninsula - great place to vacation if you enjoy fishing.
