September 12, 2022 - Michelle Lampkin, 2nd and 3rd grade ELA Teacher at the Kennedy Academy of Inquiry in the Roosevelt School District shared her perspective with us on the benefits of the Kyrene Rotary Club Dictionary Project for the 3rd grade students who receive them. Her presentation can be seen by clicking HERE. Our club has been distributing over 1000 dictionaries a year to the 3rd grade students in this District for over 10 years.

 August 29, 2022 - Megan Wilson, Director of Programs at the Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA), gave us a good overview of several programs offered by the agency, such as Housing Stability, Hunger Relief, Healthy Family, Economic Empowerment.  August 27, 2022 - Several Kyrene Rotarians, along with a couple of friends completed several tasks to make contributions ready for sale, as well as making a major renovation to the shelving in the warehouse. Our contributions were appreciated.  Several of us went for lunch afterwards at the Boulders. See a few photos of our activities below.

August 15, 2022 - Jill Strandquist, a Youth Exchange Student to the Philippines in 1982-83, gave us a very interesting presentation describing her experience as an Exchange Student. Not only was Jill a good student but while there she began her very successful tennis experience. Jill is very grateful for the RYE opportunity which she believes got her started on a successful career. She currently owns her own small business - Jilly Bean Designs.
