Boys and Girls Club - interviewing skills
July 24, 2017 - Today we replaced our weekly meeting with a visit to the Boys and Girls Club in Guadalupe. The club was well represented by, Kelly, Marion, Dave, Doug, Mike, and Ken along with help from Skip and Pat. We functioned as interviewers to help 10 teenagers improve their interviewing skills.  We all enjoyed the experience and finished the morning with pizzas and brownies.  We hope to help the Boys and Girls Club again next year.

Origins of Universities
July 10, 2017 - Club President Doug Bock gave the first "summer member presentation" for this year. Doug explained that in Plato and Aristotle's time there were no universities, only schools that focused on behavior. It wasn't until 800 that Charlemagne dictated that all churches and monasteries had to establish schools to educate the community. From there, these cathedral schools continued to develop into universities - beginning with Paris and Bolgna in the 1200's. By 1350 these universities had developed into the form we see today throughout the world.  Thanks Doug for a piece of interesting history.
