February 10, 2020 - Brenda Smull, a volunteer with the Better Angels organization gave us very good overview.
Brenda is a security professional with Charles Schwab and has served in the Military. She explained that Better Angels was created in 2016 with the overall goal of depolarizing America. They hold workshops all across the country and 3 have been held in the Phoenix area. Better Angels creates groups of citizens (called Alliances) who get trained in specific procedures. The Alliances sponsor workshops and debates; hold in depth discussions about policy issues; and encourage discussion members to socialize with each other in various settings. Brenda's presentation generated much discussion.
February 9, 2020 - Club members and spouses attended a Salt River Brass concert.
The Salt River Brass -an all volunteer orchestra - gave a wonderful performance titled "All that Jazz". Several members and spouses attended and after the concert had fine dining and fellowship at Tres. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
If you are a busy person who wants to have fun while making a difference, then be our guest for lunch on Monday (not holidays) from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the Olive Garden. January 27, 2020 - Club member Tyler Leuning, Financial Advisor for Edward Jones, gave us a great overview and answered questions regarding the SECURE (Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement) Act. Very informative and timely for our club.
