Oct 22, 2018 - Today we had a visitor, Van Van Jepmond, from a club near Olympia in Washington, who told us a short story (on short notice since our scheduled speaker did not arrive). Van had spent many years in Denmark during World War II and one day at a District Rotary meeting in Victoria BC he heard a man speaking Danish. They began to trade information and it turned out that the man was living in Denmark very close to where Van had lived all those years ago. Van has been in Rotary for many years and has tales from all over the world. Rotary certainly brings people together in some wonderful and unexpected ways!
