August 26, 2016  Project CURE has gotten more organized and made the sorting even easier. This was both good and bad for sorters. On the one hand, it is easier. On the other hand, the challenge of trying to identify strange things was fun. They also seemed to have more volunteers and interns, and their meeting area has been converted into another sorting area. A group from Cox was there with us as well as several ASU interns. Since sorting was easier and faster, we were also trained in packing the boxes for shipment. Each box must have only 1 kind of item and the items must be counted for the labels. Printing the labels was easy. The item code, weight, and count was entered on drop down menus and a label was printed. Dave, Rob, and Doug contributed 8 hours of service and sorted over 20 large boxes of medical supplies.
