Nov 7, 2016 - Tim Sandefur, Vice President for Litigation at the Goldwater Institute, gave us a few examples of the various litigations that the institute has been engaged in over the past few years. He told us that the institute focuses on state laws rather than federal laws because the constitution gives most power to the states. Two examples are litigation regarding the Indian Child Welfare Act (some very strange laws here that don't have the best interest of the child at heart) and litigation regarding private property cases (again there are some very strange laws on the books).
