July 13, 2020 - Peter Marshall, creative director for Forrec, gave us an excellent overview of where Theme Parks are going and what elements will they contain. Peer talked about Queues, Rides, and Planning. He told us about "Pivots" which are major shifts in concepts. Designers are working on making queues faster, more comprehensive and enjoyable. Apps will show waits, navigation to rides etc. AI combined with location information will help people move through parks more efficiently. Rides will be more sophisticated with more control being given to the rider. Planning involves developing parks that change from pay once when you enter to pay as you go. Self driving vehicles will enable people to drive throughout the park. Peter said in general there will be "individual, real time, RFID tracked, AI guided, AR enriched park tours".
