Exceptional Hearing Care, gave us an excellent overview of the relationship between loss of hearing and brain functions. The statistics regarding the number and ages of people with hearing loss problems were staggering. In addition, there is a very strong correlation between hearing loss and cognitive decline and dementia. She stressed that everyone should be as concerned about hearing as they are about vision since one cannot reverse any atrophy that has occurred in the brain. Her presentation generated lots of questions and discussion.
