Dec 15, 2014 - Dominic Bartola spoke to us as a beneficiary of the
Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) program. His dog, Plato, was trained to alert Dominic to sounds in his house since Dominic is almost completely deaf. Dominic explained the program briefly but spent much of his time encouraging us to participate in the
Dogfest Walk 'n Roll in Scottsdale on March 7th 2015. Dominic is the event chairperson and is looking for volunteers and donations to raise funds to support the CCI program. Recipients of trained dogs pay nothing but the training costs exceed $50,000 per dog. Club members were impressed with Dominic and his buddy Plato.
