January 11, 2020 - Exchange student Remy joined several members of our club to help build a house for Habitat. The Kyrene Rotary Club has been volunteering with Habitat for 15 years.
And here are some more photos showing most of the volunteers, the Rotarian volunteer group, and my "portrait" with the exchange students. The Rotarian volunteer group picture includes the 3 exchange students, 2 of the family who will own the house, and Jason Barlow, CEO of Habitat for Humanity - Central Arizona. Rotary District Governor David Simmer came by and spent more than an hour with us midday, a pleasant surprise!Thanks to all the members who came. We got a lot of work done in prep for the pre-drywall inspection. Special shout out to Machel and Brent for arranging and transporting the exchange students. I was pleased to be back on a H4H jobsite AND to last the day! This was the 14th or 15th house we - Kyrene Rotary & friends - helped build and nearly the 20th time we did so. FYI "our" houses through the year were mostly financed by the East Valley Lutheran HFH Coalition.
