Sept 23, 2091 - Dara Gibson, AZCEND's Development Director spoke to our club today. Dara is a native Arizonian who has worked with non-profits for over 20 years. She was introduced to Rotary when she was 16 years old when she was working for two "old time" and well known Rotarians in our area (Barb and Abe). The AZCEND organization began over 50 years ago and continues to grow. They have an extremely broad program which includes a Food Bank, Family Resource Center, Community Action Program, Homeless Services, and Senior Programs. Their mission is to change lives by nourishing minds and bodies to create a connected thriving community. They rely on over 1400 volunteers to provide services. They are very similar to the TCAA organization in Tempe which our club supports but their focus is mainly in Chandler. To get more details CLICK HERE.
